July at CCH: The Church Has Left the Building!

Can you believe it's already July?! Your Community Connections Committee is looking forward to several service projects on July 13 and 20 as we explore what it means to be the church outside the building! We are excited to partner with some wonderful local nonprofit organizations:

- Youth Outreach (YO!), a program of Waikiki Health, is a safe haven for houseless youth. We'll be cleaning and doing yard work at their drop-in center.

- Ka ‘Ohu Hou O Manoa, part of Salvation Army, provides post-rehab housing for women and kids. We are putting together self-care baskets for their courageous moms.

- River of Life Mission distributes food to people experiencing houselessness at multiple sites across Oahu. We'll be making Grace 2 Go snack bags for their ministry.

- Susannah Wesley Community Center provides a multitude of services for immigrant families in need. We'll be volunteering at their location in Kalihi. Thanks to everyone who contributed donations or signed up to volunteer! We'll be following up with details for each project.

As a reminder, we will not have regular Sunday morning worship in July. Instead we have the following activities planned:

- Sunday, July 6: Church Retreat - Worship at Camp Mokulēʻia as part of the Church Retreat.

- Sunday, July 13: Service Projects - Meet at church at 9:00 a.m. for a blessing and split up either to carpool to YO! or stay on campus to put together Grace 2 Go bags.

- Sunday, July 20: Service Projects - Meet at church at 9:00 a.m. for a blessing, then either drive to the Susannah Wesley Community Center or stay on campus to assemble self-care baskets.

- Sunday, July 27: Celebration Potluck - Meet at church at 9:00 a.m. for special time of worship to reflect on "The Church Has Left the Building," followed by at celebration potluck in Stephen Mark Hall.
